About Me

To start off, my name is Amanda Burgess. I am a student at Michigan State University. As a person I am optimistic and I enjoy the little things in life. I love going on long runs because I am always filled with energy and running gives me a chance to explore new places. I am also very outgoing, and I love meeting and working with new people. I was raised to believe that I can be anything I want to be as long as I work hard, which is probably why I set such high goals for myself. One of my main goals right now is to become a Wildlife Veterinarian.
From as long as I can remember I have loved animals more than anything. When I was in first grade I drew a picture of what I wanted to be when I was older, and instead of being a princess or a famous singer like every other little girl in my class, I drew a picture of a Veterinarian. Although I have changed my mind a few times since then, working with animals and being a Vet is the only job I see myself going to work everyday and being truly happy. However, I am a type of person who wants to explore the world, and do something different every day. Taking that into account, I decided to become a veterinarian who treats exotic animals, or a Wildlife Medicine Veterinarian. As a Wildlife Veterinarian I would take care of more than just dogs and cats, I would treat all different kinds of wild animals.
